After considering many amazing locations in the Basque Country, we kept returning to Biarritz. A project like this needs a diverse and loyal community to thrive. The rare attributes of the Biarritz minitropolis make it the best location in the region to launch this project.

Biarritz has long-attracted a truly varied mix of inhabitant and visitor, and there is an increasing number of people who are making it their full-time home, or choosing to base themselves here and travel for work a few days a week. That’s testament to the incredible depth of experience that we have on our doorstep from the mountains to the beach and everything in between.

Our members are from innovative, creative, athletic and entrepreneurial backgrounds, but that’s a state of mind, not a “job”. There’s no preference given to status or job title, everyone will be treated with the same level of respect and privacy.

We want this space to be an extended home for our members, somewhere they can relax with friends and family - enjoy themselves with a touch of affordable luxury.

Biarritz is often criticised for being “trop cher”, but we respectfully disagree. Given the extraordinary experiences and lifestyle on offer, we believe it’s undervalued - creating Txoko House will show that with the right community, luxury can be accessible for everyone who’s prepared to support it. 

The membership model at Txoko House is not intended to exclude anyone, for certain members who bring something valuable to the community it can be waived. For the rest of the community the membership fee is a regular financial commitment that enables the space to thrive and flourish.

It allows us to maintain a multifaceted events program that appeals to a wide audience without needing to pack the venue. We want the ambience to feel special, but never crowded.

The Basque word auzolan represents this perfectly, it’s the principle that everyone in the community should be doing something to take it forwards.

Our membership base is made up of exceptional people and we look forward to collaborating with them to make Txoko House a special place.
